- Can I track my own personal expenses without a group?
- Yes. Every DueCircle account gets a private Personal space — “Your Name’s Expenses” — for logging what you spend on yourself. There are no members, no splitting and no settling up: just add an expense with its amount, category, note and date, and see your totals by month and category. It is the simplest way to track your own spending, free forever.
- How do I split an expense with just one person?
- Open the People tab and search for the person by their full mobile number or email address. If they are on DueCircle, a one-to-one thread opens instantly and you can add a shared expense, choose who paid, and split it equally or by a custom amount. You see a single running balance — who owes whom — and can settle up whenever you like.
- What if the person I want to split with isn’t on DueCircle yet?
- The search screen offers to invite them — on WhatsApp or by email — with a link to join. Once they sign up, your one-to-one thread is ready and any balance you have been keeping carries over.
- Do I need each other’s exact phone number or email?
- Yes. You can only start a one-to-one with someone by entering their full mobile number or full email address. There is no browsing or partial search, so nobody can discover who else uses DueCircle — a deliberate privacy choice.
- Is one-to-one splitting free?
- Completely. Personal tracking and one-to-one splitting are part of DueCircle, which is free forever — no premium tier, no trial, no card. The site is supported by ads on these public pages, never inside your private data.
- Can I split in a different currency with a friend?
- Yes. Every amount carries its own currency and is stored in exact minor units, so a one-to-one balance in euros, pounds, rupees, dollars or yen is always exact. When you settle up, DueCircle shows precisely which expenses produced the figure.
